This tallit design is based on a stained-glass window in the sanctuary of B'nai Jeshurun in Manhattan. I often focus on this window when facing east during the Amidah prayer, and am always struck by the boldness of the sun in the middle of the window even when it’s cloudy outside, or in the greater world. In small letters on one of the black lead lines that run across the center of the tallit are two lines in Hebrew about the sun:

And the light is sweet, and it is good for the eyes to see the sun. — Kohelet (Ecclesiastes) 11:7

From the rising of the sun until its setting, the name of the God is praised.Psalm 113:3

Each tallit comes with a matching zippered tallit bag (see last photo), printed on both sides and machine-washable. (Please note that this bag is not hand-sewn, but rather manufactured from my design by a production partner.)

Material: Medium-weight twill fabric and satin trim. Size: 72" long x 24" wide, designed to be warn shawl-style. They're a comfortable size for men and women alike. Please see the F.A.Q. page for more information about how Goren Judaica tallitot are made, and options for customization.
