The choshen was the breastplate worn by the High Priest, the chief religious official of the Israelites until the fall of the Second Temple. This magnificent garment is described in great detail in the book of Exodus, rows of resplendent jewels below which dangled rings and chains of precious metal and other decorative elements. This tallit design, based on a stained-glass window in the sanctuary of my synagogue, is created with text from Parashat Pekudei, Exodus, 39:8-26 in the shape of the jeweled breastplate on the back, and of the chains on the front.

Each tallit comes with a matching zippered tallit bag (see last photo), printed on both sides and machine-washable.

Material: Medium-weight cotton and satin trim. Size: 72" long x 24" wide, designed to be warn shawl-style. They're a comfortable size for men and women alike. Please see the F.A.Q. page for more information about how Goren Judaica tallitot are made, and options for customization.
